S&P 500 retraces 50% of the rout

Stock market recovers half the decline

The S&P 500 touched a fresh session high at 1985.41, which is fractionally above the 50% retracement of the decline that started on August 18.

In the 7.5% rout in the S&P 500 last October, it took about 8 days (from the bottom) to recover all the losses.
